Answer
Can not. Actually whitening gel improve and clean the gums with antiseptic properties. Some people may experience irritation if gums are sensitive. You can spread a thin layer of Vaseline upon the gums before the whitening session, so irritation should not occur. Possible irritation is transient and disappears in any case within 1-2 days. If necessary, you can also remove the irritation with Remineralization gel.
